WHAT TO LOOK FOR IN A WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

When trying to decide on a photographer,  first you must decide on a particular look or style you  are fond of.  Look at many photographers websites.  It is very important that the photographers you are looking at belong  to at least one of the major professional photographer organizations.  The top national ones would be; The Professional Photographers of America (PPA),  Wedding Professional Photographers International (WPPI),  The American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP),  and Editorial Photographers (EP).  Photographers should also be legally in business for themselves.  Either a DBA, LLC, S-Corp or Inc.  This will assure that they are insured.  You want a professional at your wedding.  Not someone who does this on the side, part time, "under the table" sort of speak.  This is your wedding.  It can only be done right the first time.  No doing it over again.  Don't be afraid to ask these questions.  It will save you a lot of headaches later.  REPUTATION IS EVERYTHING.  Ask around!  If a photographer has been in business for 15 or 20 years, they must be doing something right.
If all this checks out,  you must have the feeling of trust in this person.   A good feeling that the person knows the business, and is confident.  I always tell people, you have to feel comfortable with the person. You will be spending months before, and after the wedding  from preparation, to the final product.  More on the subject in upcoming blogs.  I hope this will help you and thank you for visiting my blog page.  Michael
